Local Law Enforcement
Around fifty cars have been marked with what appears to be blood from a person in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Automobiles, exterior walls and postboxes were vandalized, in some cases with swastikas, they stated in a release.
Officers report they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday, when a individual discovered that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued liquid.
The fluid had been applied in the form of a banned symbol, they added.
Law enforcement then discovered multiple other marked vehicles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
These symbols are banned in Germany under laws outlawing the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.
Law enforcement report initial examinations suggest the substance was most likely human bodily fluid.
"Currently there is no lead as to its origin; investigators are not yet aware of any injuries in connection with the event," they added.
City officials announced they were attempting "to resolve the mystery" and have requested to the community for tips.
An important political figure stated the vandalism left him stunned and required to be resolved rapidly.
"This act hits the core of Hanau and reopens the pain of the far-right attack in 2020," he stated on social media, recalling the death of nine individuals by a gunman focusing on individuals of immigrant origin in 2020.
